  • Course Objectives

Participants will learn about and understand Autism Spectrum Disorders and applied behavior analysis and will earn a certificate of completion for the QASP coursework from the College of Applied Human Services (a division of Innovative Learning LLC). In addition participants will be able to conduct a functional behavioral assessment and then develop, implement, and monitor a positive behavioral intervention plan using person-centered approaches.

Using applied behavior analysis and positive behavior supports, participants will be able to apply specific support strategies such as Discrete Trail Teaching, Pivotal Response training and create optimal learning environments for the individuals they treat. As a participant moves through the program the competencies are presented and then tested.

These competencies will build upon one another to ensure a solid foundation in the understanding and application of the specific evidence-based support and treatment strategies for individuals diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorder and autism receiving behavioral health treatment. The QASP Practitioner program focus on the key elements of evidence-based best practice and treatment models. The content of courses is based on current research that has demonstrated clinical efficacy in treating pervasive developmental disorder and autism.
